The online marketplace Tictail is now closed and sellers are in no need to panic as Happeno is a great Tictail alternative. The famous e-commerce platform Shopify has acquired the marketplace that started in Sweden. The Tictail team will be joining new adventures at Shopify “to continue to empower brands like yours online.”
Tictail was started in Sweden in 2012. They raised $22 million in 2015, and has reportedly raised over $32 million in total. At the time, it said its sellers came from across 140 countries worldwide. And the most popular regions being Sweden, UK, France, and Germany.
It is believed that Shopify will take over Tictail’s brick-and-mortar store in New York City. Which “brings the newest in fashion, art, and home decor to Manhattan’s Lower East Side.”
The Tictail team has reported a long time ago that “There will be no changes to your account until April 1, 2019, at which point the Tictail platform will no longer be available. At any time, from now until April, you will have the option to migrate to the Shopify platform.”
When the marketplace Tictail was operative, sellers paid 10% commission fees for sales and got a free “shop,”. And sellers could choose to pay extra for premium shop features.
Tictail Alternative Happeno
At Happeno sellers only pay 3% commission fees for sales and you get a free store as well. In your free store, you can list up to 50 items for free, and you have the option to upgrade your account if you plan to list more items.
Since the announcement about closing down was made by Tictail, there have been various feedback from sellers. Some sellers said that they didn’t want to go from having a free Tictail shop to paying Shopify’s monthly fees.
If you’re looking for a great Tictail alternative than you are more than welcome to join the marketplace Happeno and opening your store.
We wish the Tictail team good luck at Shopify! You guys truly made a difference in the e-commerce world, and you can be proud of what you have accomplished in the last years.
